Moore Point partners congratulate Rivers Taskforce

Moore Point landowners, Leamac Property Group and Coronation Property congratulate David Borger and the Western Sydney Rivers Taskforce team behind the recently published report “Our Rivers: Connecting and activating Western Sydney communities”.

Western Sydney’s waterways – the Parramatta, Hawkesbury-Nepean, and Georges Rivers – represent an extraordinary opportunity to reshape Western Sydney’s future. Moore Point is strategically located on the eastern banks of Georges River in Liverpool, with unmatched connectivity for business and people.

The precinct will open public access to the Georges River and deliver more than ten hectares of new landscaped open space including riverfront parks. It will connect an eight-kilometre foreshore walk, cycling trails, swimming spots, beautiful places to relax and over 2,000 new trees.

Moore Point will help to achieve the vision set out in the Report: to transform how Western Sydney engages with its rivers and waterways into hubs of activity, environmental stewardship, and vibrant activated living for the benefit of both visitors and locals.

Moore Point is well-positioned to support this vision, by activating one of Western Sydney’s most important waterways.

When releasing the report Business Western Sydney’s Executive Director and Chair of the Liverpool Innovation Precinct, David Borger, highlighted the need to provide access for every Western Sydney resident to a natural body of water within 30 minutes of their home.

“The Moore Point proposal is a great example of how the 275 kilometres of untapped rivers in Western Sydney could be activated to unlock immense social, environmental, and economic benefits for our growing community.”

“The Georges River has been cut off from the city and community for decades. There is nowhere in the Liverpool CBD’s public areas, parks or streets where you even know you are next to the Georges River. The Moore Point Precinct is the only place in the CBD where the vision for a river city can be realised, by providing public access to the foreshore for the first time in a hundred years.”
