After years of advocacy by community and industry groups and local government, and in exciting news for Liverpool and South West Sydney, a landmark $1 billion funding commitment from the Federal and NSW Governments for the Fifteenth Avenue Transit Corridor has been announced.
This transformative infrastructure project will forge a vital connection between Liverpool and the Western Sydney International Airport, driving economic growth and opportunities for the region. It is also an important piece in achieving the vision for the Liverpool Innovation Precinct. Strategically positioned in the corridor between Sydney’s two international airports, large scale infrastructure investment such as the investment in the Fifteenth Avenue Transit Corridor will support its success.
Scheduled to open in late 2026, the corridor is set to position Liverpool as a dynamic hub for innovation, employment, and connectivity.
Erika Pawley, Project Director for Leamac Property Group, welcomed the announcement, saying, “This funding commitment is a major milestone for Liverpool, the Liverpool Innovation Precinct and South West Sydney. The Fifteenth Avenue Transit Corridor will not only connect communities but also unlock opportunities for economic growth, making Liverpool and the Moore Point precinct a key player in the region’s transformation.”
The commitment reflects the Federal Government’s vision of Greater Western Sydney as a key economic driver for Australia, reinforcing the region’s role in generating jobs and opportunities.
